Title:玻璃盌 Glass Bowl

A work made entirely of glass. The exterior exhibits a metallic luster due to the reduction flame. It seems that the glass contains silver in its composition. The piece has a high degree of translucency, maintaining a distinctly glass-like charm. The primary technique used is blowing, but there are also pieces made using casting.

Artist Statement

I work with glass—a material that lives in between: fluid yet solid, delicate yet strong, transparent yet elusive. It holds within it opposing qualities that do not clash, but coexist in quiet harmony. In its shimmering ambiguity, I find a reflection of something deeply personal—my inner landscapes, fleeting thoughts, and silent emotions.

Drawn to the fragile and seductive beauty of glass, I approach each piece as a dialogue between self and substance. My practice is rooted in kiln casting and glass blowing, but it expands through continuous experimentation, original techniques, and the occasional fusion with other materials. Each work emerges not from repetition, but from a moment of discovery.

Among my creations are glass matcha bowls—born from my encounters with the world of tea. By applying urushi lacquer to the glass, I have sought to give form not only to beauty, but to function, bridging tradition with new possibilities.

To me, glass is not simply a medium. It is a vessel of light and memory, of presence and absence. My work is a quiet pursuit of form—a journey into the unknown terrains where material and mind meet.
